Guide for use:
A patient is classified as an extended wait patient if the patient is in clinical urgency category 3 at the time of admission or at a census time and has been waiting for the elective surgery for more than one year.

Comments:
This metadata item is used to identify clinical urgency category 3 patients who had waited longer than one year at admission or have waited longer than one year at the time of a census. An extended wait patient is not an overdue patient as there is no maximum desirable waiting time specified for patients in clinical urgency category 3 as they have been assessed as not having a clinically urgent need for the awaited procedure.
