Definition

Principal area of clinical practice is defined as either the field of principal professional clinical activity or the primary area of responsibility, depending on the profession. It may be described in terms of the particular discipline, skills or knowledge field of the profession, whether general or specialised; or described in terms of the principal client group; or described by the principal activity of an institution, or section of an institution, where clinical practice takes place.
