Context:
Localities, together with Urban Centres, make up the Urban Centre/Locality (UC/L) Structure maintained by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) as part of the Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC).
An Urban Centre is a population cluster of more than 1,000 people. For statistical purposes, people living in Urban Centres are classified as urban while those in Localities are classified as rural.
