Guide for use:
This data element should be used in conjunction with the data elements: Person—alcohol consumption frequency, AUDIT alcohol consumption frequency code N and Person—alcohol consumption amount (self-reported), total standard drinks NN to obtain a score on the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and consequently obtain a risk of alcohol-related harm.
Comments:
The AUDIT is an alcohol screen that can help identify patients who are hazardous drinkers or have active alcohol use disorders (including alcohol abuse or dependence).
