Comments:

In New South Wales, application reference numbers are assigned to eligible applicants on the waiting list and this number is common for the applicant across programs. This links applicants to other forms of assistance if provided (e.g. Rentstart or Special Assistance Subsidy).

Tasmania identifies applicant households by counting the application reference of the first person on the application form rather than allocating a distinct household reference to an application. Each time they apply for further assistance the application reference changes.
