Definition
The type of intervention carried out to improve, maintain or assess the health of a person with a mental illness.
If not therapeutic or diagnostic, an intervention will nevertheless contribute materially to the improvement of a client’s health, alter the course of a health condition or promote wellness. Interventions include invasive and non-invasive procedures, cognitive interventions and other interventions (including psychosocial interventions).
