Comments:

Includes all overseas born children who were placed with adoptive parents in Australia during the reporting period, but whose adoption orders were not finalised by 30 June.

An adoption order is finalised after the legal relationship between the child and the biological parents is severed and the legal relationship of parent and child is transferred, in full, to the adoptive parent(s).
