Five-year relative survival proportions for people diagnosed with cancer
Indicator Summary
Number of similar people in the general population who survived for the same period.
People in the denominators are matched for sex and age (to match to ‘age at diagnosis’ for people in the cancer cohort).
Analysis will be undertaken using the ‘cohort’ method of calculation. See AIHW 2008 Cancer Series no. 42. Cat. no. CAN 38.

Calculation rules

People in the denominators are matched for sex and age (to match to ‘age at diagnosis’ for people in the cancer cohort).
